Barb Mummery

Barb started her yoga journey in 2007. Three years later, encouraged by a friend, she took an introductory course on teaching yoga offered by Fitness New Brunswick, in doing so she found an outlet to release stress and energy. In a short period of time, she realized a greater sense of well-being and happiness, as well as a stronger physical body.

In 2012 she dove deeper into yoga and teaching by taking a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification through Amana Yoga with Stephen Joyce and Kristine Ward. Barbara’s yoga journey took her to Mysore, India in 2015 and each year thereafter with the exception of the year 2021. There she practiced and continues to practice a dynamic style of yoga called Prana Vashya Yoga (breath control) under the guidance of founder and teacher Acharya Vinay Kumar.

Yoga has become a way of life for Barb, a channel, to explore and experience the mind and body, to bring balance into life. Her practice has taken her on a journey from student to teacher and has been rewarding, and exciting.
