~ Stephen’s Personal Yoga Journey ~

Yoga has been a part of my life since I can remember, even my childhood dog was named Yogi. I started practicing yoga after picking up the Sivananda Guide to Yoga back in the early  80’s. Yoga always made me feel good and I always felt special doing it, it has given me a sense of who I am, and what I am here for. My confidence in life is directly linked to my yoga practice and my yoga lifestyle.

I first became interested in teaching Yoga after my wife Kristine took her teacher training in the early 2000s. I knew it was for me and I embarked on a journey of yoga, meditation and Ayurveda with the Chopra Center in Carlsbad California. I also trained with Ashtanga Teacher Jody Manley in Halifax Nova Scotia and have taken many workshops and training with various teachers. I have completed a 300-hour Vedic Astrology Course with David Frawley out of New Mexico and also share that knowledge with my clients.

I love watching students and clients transform into greater human beings when they practice yoga. For me, that is what it’s all about…watching people grow and learn to love yoga, My preferred Yoga practice is Ashtanga Yoga and like to mix it up with restorative and yin. I have come to embrace that life can be difficult and that when joy and happiness come into our life we should embrace that moment and celebrate it!
